This whale was part a pod of three whales that came right up to our boat during a whale watching tour of Monterey Bay. They swam around the boat for about 20 minutes before they got bored with us and left.

Monterey Bay: Sea Otter

These sea otters are quite a common site in Monterey Bay. They came right up to my hotel room, which overlooked the bay.

These photographs of Monterey Bay were taken at dawn using a neutral density filter and a long exposure setting. The long exposure gives the water a silky look.
